Job Fair:

Our HR team along with an office assistant had represented GOLDSIKKA at a job fair held at City Central Library, Chikkadapally. Aer interviewing 59 candidates, 31were shortlisted wherein the second round of interview will be held at our head office. Closing to the event, we were also presented with a Memo by the City Central Library Job fair just did not help us in hiring required candidates but also helped us in understanding the effect of covid over the jobs in all the sectors. An exposure to many companies, candidates with different ideologies, the event management team and higher officials responsible for the conducng Job fair changed the whole perspecve of our HR team and gave us a bigger picture of need for planning, coordinang and implemenng without any flaw in a system. Also, a consultancy, TWS internaonal, came forward to us in providing trained Sales execuves during the event which further was taken to management.

• To make ourselves involved in Project Jaguar, we contributed in the form of designing the Pamphlets and brochures for outdoor promoons and a short video about our opinion on Project Jaguar.

• To make our work more producve and keep updated with latest technologies, JIRA soware was introduced to our team.

IMPACT OF COVID-19 ON EMPLOYEE ENGAGEMENT ACTIVITIES WAYS TO OVERCOME

The Labor market is most affected due to COVID-19. Following ten years of almost continuous development, organizations across the world are managing a uninterrupted growth since the Great Depression. While organizations wrestle with the economic aftermath of the pandemic, employees are confronted with various elements getting in the way of their engagement.

The engagement needs of any organization have never been more genuine or pressing, but it may appear logistically complicated and strategically muddled to address at the moment. However, an engaged workforce is a lofty goal in the best of times but this becomes tricky when people are left focusing on basic physiological, psychological and economic needs.

An organization through employee engagement can deliver their mission and vision, their strategic priorities and the central goal and essential needs of the company. While the world of work my feel topsy turvy, employee engagement is an evergreen equation. It’s about extreme fulfillment for individuals and maximum contribution of the organization.

There are four key guidelines for keeping the workforce engaged and will help keep employees performing and satisfied during extraordinary occasions.

Contribution:

In the current context, giving 110% on the job is not simple. However, in spite of all that is happening, employees still need to feel that they are making an impact to the organization. Connection:

With many of the employees at home working in a highly stressful environment, the need for community has become stronger. This beginnings with immediate team and maintaining connection with colleagues and having check-ins on a regular basis. If a team is telecommuting, the manager must make sure to leverage video chats during team meetings to satisfy the need for face-to-face interactions. These Collaborative techniques are a great tool to demonstrate the organizations’ commitment and caring for their people.

Communication:

An organization’s reactions to certain circumstances and strategic responses is fundamental, but how they choose to communicate it to the employees is equally important. Managements need to ensure that they are communicating frequently, honestly and with empathy providing clarity and setting expectations and acknowledging the emotions of your workforce at the time. It’s always better to remind them how to impact their customers and the larger community.

Confidence:

During this time of upheaval and dread, an organization’s’ employees are looking them to be their consistent stone in an ocean of vulnerability. Building trust and confidence is the key. It is important to articulate the vision and explain the impact of actions for long-term success.

How AI can be a game changer in HR functions

The advent of artificial intelligence (AI) in human resource (HR) functions has long been in the offing. Yale University professor David Gelernter had in 1993 predicted that one day we will live in “mirror worlds” where people and software will work hand-in-glove and sometimes hand-in-hand. If the trajectory of digital transformation of human resource functions is anything to go by, it is evident that the moment of reckoning is here, right upon us. Artificial intelligence is making its way into HR functions in a big way.

Individuals want to replicate onsite experiences in an online environment. Such “mirror worlds” provide value that encompasses cost savings, convenience, certainty, clarity, and less-contact user journeys. Integral to the creation of the mirror world is the use of data generated across digital touchpoints to augment different facets of employee experience for individuals at the micro-level. When aggregated for all employees across the enterprise, such digital twinning leads to a shift in the way an enterprise conducts diverse HR functions.

HR Interns experience on Hiring Event-2

Hiring Event 2 was held on 22nd and 23rd of April 2021. I was heading this entire event with the help of my team mates Priyanka & Sowmya which was held in our two office locations, Madhapur and Himayatnagar. It was a great learning experience of finding, selecting and hiring new employees in the company. Since the process requires strategic and pragmatic thinking while staying humane there are certain steps to follow to make it.

There was total 14 candidates who turned for interview combining both the office which was commendable in the peak time of Covid-19 and on day 2, we held it online where we interviewed 14 candidates.

After rigorous screening and analysis of 28 candidates for 2-day drive, total 9 were shortlisted- Shradha Shaw

It was a great experience in handling the event, amidst the pandemic. I guess we were able to handle the event successfully. Along with the offline mode of conducting the interview I have also gained an experience of hosting and handling the event Online. India to receive the third vaccine Sputnik V

Sputnik V, a Russian vaccine, has been cleared by India's drug regulator, making it the country's third coronavirus vaccine to be approved for emergency use. The vaccine is named after Sputnik, the first Soviet space satellite; however, the V in its name refers to the alphabetic letter 'v' (for vaccine), not the Roman numeral.The approval comes as the ravaging pandemic continues to grip the region, leading to tighter regulations and states reporting vaccine shortages.

Russian President Vladimir Putin made the claim during a government meeting where he described it as "a very important step for the world", the Sputnik news reported. He said that one of his daughters took part in the experiment and she was vaccinated against the coronavirus.

How it works

The Sputnik V vaccine is based on an adenoviral vector. It, like Serum Institute of India's Covishield, uses a weakened virus to stimulate an immune response. "Vectors" are vehicles that can infect a cell with genetic material from another virus. The adenovirus gene that causes infection is deleted, and a gene coding for a protein from another virus spike is added.

This inserted factor is not harmful to the body, but it does assist the immune system in reacting and producing antibodies that protect us from infection. Human adenoviruses are among the easiest to engineer in this way, and as a result, they have grown in popularity as vectors.

Dosage

Despite being a two-dose vaccine, the Sputnik V uses two separate formulae for its two jabs,

Unlike using the same formula twice, the two separate formulas seem to improve the immune system more. It is also healthy and provides longer-lasting protection. During the dosage, the formulas can be swapped out.

In India, 850 million doses of Sputnik V will be produced per year. By the end of the month, however, only a small number of doses will be available initially.

What is a Walk-in interview?

Walk In is defined as a condition wherein a person (who may be a customer, a new employee, a prospective employee who has come for an interview etc) reaches the respective office or place without any prior appointment.

A lot of companies these days entertain walk-in interviews where candidates can simply reach the office, and get interviewed by the employer on a specified date and time. It was completely a new experience for me, I had an opportunity to interact and Interview the candidates present for the interview that day. I had a privilege to coordinate the event on behalf of our team. The event turned out to be a great success with a proper coordination of our teammates.

Goldsikka has given us a great exposure to learn practically what HR is all about: recruitment, interviews, resume screening, how to categorize quality candidates by their skills which will help us to climb a ladder soon when joining a corporate job. How was your experience?

It is a great success for Goldsikka limited to get a license under National Security Depository Limited (NSDL). It would not be possible without the whole team of Goldsikka Limited. It was a great learning experience for me. I learned about digital signature certificates and came to know about its importance .It was a great experience working with Madhuri Ma'am and getting the guidance from S.y Taruj sir for getting the NSDL license. While filling the NSDL form I came to know about the importance and requirements of certain documents. After filling all the documents and completing the online paper work, we finally got the NSDL license. I have learned and gained knowledge while working on the NSDL project.

3. Intern’s experience in past 5 weeks and what they have learnt during this period: -

1.Shradha Shaw-

So far, the internship has helped me for work after college by giving me an idea of what the industry does and that it isn’t always in a perfect environment that you get in the classroom setting. The industry is at a different level than school. But school has given me a great foundation to build for the future to be able to go in the field and learn what is needed for my career. Goldsikka has pushed me to further develop myself and mature as not only an individual but also a professional which has become a learning curve for me and it will benefit me when I get my first job in the real world.

2.Indhuja Pathivada -

I learned how to make payroll structure and recruiting the candidates and Also, how to scrutinise the candidates for various profiles, It’s not all about learning. It’s all about exploring and analysing the things.

3.Aditi Kumari -

During this one month of internship I have got a great exposure about the subject that how to work in the practical life. I have worked on the Grievances, and made Feedback forms related to the customer and employee to know more about the employees so that more employee engagement plans can be implemented in the company and Employee Assessment has also be done to know how productive are the employees.

4.Priyanka Mishra -

It's been an exciting journey till now as I get to learn something new every day. I got an opportunity to do the performance review of Goldsikka Employees & Interns which helped me in gaining knowledge of How Performance management plays a vital role in an organization. I am looking forward for the challenges & different opportunities in my field of work.

5.Tanvi Rana -

This 3-week internship has taught me various things, the exposure that I got was immense. I have learned about various crisis situation that an organisation could face and how to deal with them effectively. I also have learnt the importance of crisis management plan that must exist in the company. I look forward to learn more from the internship.

6.Adwait Murti -

In my last 5 weeks of internship, i have learnt how to choose the right recruitment portal and how to screen and select candidates based on their skills and qualifications.

My experience at Goldsikka for the past 3 weeks has been phenomenal. I love working here. The team here is very supportive and friendly. There has not been even a single day I have spent without learning something new.
I believe, by the time I complete my internship I will be industry ready and will be courageous enough to take on any challenge.

In last few weeks I have learned a lot mainly about recruitment. I have learned about digital and traditional recruitment. Job postings etc which are not are not in books.
This knowledge helps me in my personal development and also helpful in bringing success to the organization.

9.Amit Ojha -

In my 3 weeks of experience gold Sikka gave me an great exposure about how to promote branding regarding online recruitment portfolios how to target audience with some great creativity in order to approach candidates easily in fact I also learnt the working profile for freelance marketing about their job profile it's recruitment strategies and I am keen interested to get some more exposure in the form of projects and will have great learning ahead coming On my way.

4. Accomplishments made by me (Third Party) –

Myself Riya Singh student of IBS Hyderabad is currently pursuing internship in Human Resource at Goldsikka Limited, I am working under the project – “Resource Recruitment from Third Party”, and have successfully entered into an agreement with three Third-Party Consultancy named as Placewell Recruiters India Pvt. Ltd. a Hyderabad based Company, Tigi HR Solutions Pvt. Ltd. With a Rajkot, Gujarat based company, Pro Ample Essential Solution (Hyderabad) with a negotiable rate.

This project has given me a greater understanding of third parties and how essential they are to an organization. I am extremely grateful to the resources of Goldsikka Limited, who have assisted me in learning this procedure. This is a learning curve and I've learned a lot so far and I'm looking forward to complete this internship program successfully to be successful in my career.

IT team has worked on payment receipt and they are also working on a pdf has been downloaded, which is expected to be live soon. They have also started working on building the Gold Cannon Model as well as Event module.

Digital Marketing Team Deliverables:

Marketing team were running 3 Paid Campaigns which were Gold Contest, App Downloads and Lead Generation. They successfully got more than 130 downloads and 96 Mobile App registration and 36 Leads generation out of which 3 were closed. Apart from paid campaign they were also doing organic promotion in which they we got 15 leads and also received 56 enquiries in past 1 month.

A - First of all its not my individual success , it's success of the company. So I would like to congratulate each and every one of Gold Sikka team as we have now reached a milestone. I share the C.E.O vision , that is to make Gold Sikka a well known established firm and become of the prominent player in its area . I am happy , that I have taken a right step in that direction. This is a small success , I have miles to achieve. So I'm really not letting this success get into my head.

  Q - I have generally heard getting Government license is a tedious task , how were you able to achieve it in such a short period ?

A - It all started when I was doing my report on Gold Monetization Scheme. I realised BIS Hallmark licence is necessary as it increases the trustworthiness of the firm. Secondly , I knew 3rd party service providers charge hefty fee and henceforth I was left with no short cuts. I read all about the procedures and step by step filled the application with help from other executives. As we followed the right procedures , our application got accepted in the first try.

  Q - What would you like to tell to other interns ? Any suggestions so that they can do well in achieving something big

A - Well , I feel each and every person has the ability to achieve something great if they really want to. I focussed on the end result. I never took this internship as a formality . I work over here everyday thinking as if it's my own company and any success of failure of the company will be of my own.

To other interns working over here , I would just like to say to work each day as if it's your own company. Get emotionally attached with the firm. Take its success as your own and blame yourself for its failures. That's when u will start feeling that there's no limitations in the sky , no barriers . That's when u'll realise universe was always in your favour. All u needed to achieve was a little more push
. As I consider this organisation as my own , the day I'll feel I have really succeded is when I'll be clapping seeing each and every intern hitting a milestone in their respective areas.

A - The best way to handle stress is not taking any. I always listen to light music while working as it maintains the positivity in me and also increases my efficiency.

Women's Day Celebration at GoldSikka

On8th March 2021, Monday there was a celebration to honor all the women warriors at GoldSikka to thank them for their contribution and support to the company and to the society at large.
● We would also like to express our gratitude to Mrs. Shweta Gaba for organizing and hosting a very memorable event for everyone present. · We would also like to thank Mr.Tajuddin for making a poster of all our women warriors in lieu of women's day.
● There was an amazing speech given by the CEO- Mr. Syed Taruj to honor all the women. He talked about how god created both men and women equally but women were created to be more resilient and stronger than men in every aspect and how they have the ability to outshine others at every stage of life.
● A wonderful speech was given by Ms. Lily Meruga talking about how women are becoming more and more independent and fierce, how they are redefining the traditional norms of society and creating more opportunities for every other women, strengthening the society as a whole.

● Riya Singh (HR Intern)also expressed her views on how there shouldn't just be one day but every single day must be a considered as women's day to make every women feel more special and appreciated. She talked about how every women is special and beautiful in all their roles be it a mother, sister, wife or a friend. She expressed that women hold a very important place in life as they take decisions very wisely and take many aspects into consideration before coming to a conclusion.
● Amit Ojha (HR Intern) also expressed his views talking about how women play an important roles in every person's life, family life is meaningless without them. Women care for us until their last breath with great moral support and motivation. They guide us during our critical moments. He also talked about how women must be given equal respect as men and should have equal growth and moral support for each other towards their growth and success in life.
● We also had our respected Chairman, Mrs. Ambika Burmanwho cut the cake in honor of all the ladies.
● It was a wonderful event for the organization where everyone got to know more about the company's values.
● We would also like to thank all the men in GoldSikka who wholeheartedly participated in this event, supported the women in all their endeavors and helped them in every way possible.

The International Women's Day which is observed on March 8th is to celebrate the achievements of women in various fields like economic, political and social line. Apart from celebration of their achievements the day is also used to express respect, appreciation and love towards the most powerful gender. It is always proud being a woman and International Women's Day is a day to celebrate being a woman.

Discrimination of women is considered to be one of the major violations of human rights which severely acts as a hurdle for a women to progress in life. Participation of men folk along with the women to secure their rights is essentially required without which no solution to the world's most serious social, economic and political problems are unlikely to be found. International Women's Day is celebrated to recognize the act of securing peace, social progress and full enjoyment of human rights with active participation, equality and development of women, and to acknowledge the contribution of women to the universe.

Geological Survey of India will take up exploration for gold, rare earth elements

Hyderabad: Telangana may be sitting on a possible pot of gold, literally. The Geological Survey of India (GSI) will take up exploration for gold and rare earth elements in the State later this year.

“This will be a preliminary exploration for gold deposits in areas that are likely to have them,” Director, Mines & Geology BRV Susheel Kumar told Telangana Today.

The search by GSI is scheduled for the current financial year. It will explore for gold in the Gadwal Schist Belt in Atkur area of Jogulamba-Gadwal and Wanaparthy districts and also in the Dornala-Dharur block of Jogulamba-Gadwal district.

The State government is also proposing to reserve certain areas for the National Mineral Development Corporation (NMDC) for exploration of gold and diamond deposits in Telangana. Exploratory activities for diamond deposits are to be spread over Mahabubnagar, Jogulamba-Gadwal, Wanaparthy and Nagarkurnool districts.

The GSI will also be searching — along with gold deposits — for rare earth minerals in these two areas that are increasingly in demand in high technology industries and are used as catalysts, in metallurgy and in defence equipment industries.

According to a booklet ‘Telangana Mineral Resources & Initiatives’ released by Principal Secretary IT, Electronics & Communications Department and Commissioner Industrial Promotion Jayesh Ranjan on Thursday, uranium mining in the State too is expected to be taken up by Uranium Corporation of India Limited (UCIL).

Lambapur, Pulicherla, Namapuram and Yellapuram villages of Nalgonda district have an estimated reserves of 18,550 tonnes of uranium ore. UCIL had filed an application for a mining lease over 542 hectares and following environmental clearance by the Union Ministry of Environment and Forests, UCIL is expected to begin acquiring land for the project.

The mineral and mining sector in the State contributed Rs 4,848.85 crore to the State’s revenue in 2018-19 compared to Rs 3,704 crore in 2017-18 marking a 31per cent increase, according to the Department’s publication. After formation of Telangana State, the Department implemented several steps for effective regulation of mining activity facilitating efficient, transparent & entrepreneur-friendly mineral administration in the State.

Gold holds great sacred meaning in Indian culture, as it is the symbol of the Hindu goddess Lakshmi, which is considered highly auspicious. Hindus believe that their goddess was born from the cosmic egg of gold, and hence buying gold will bring them good fortune, and desny.

Gold is a sign of power, and status. Many individuals in India think that gold symbolises wealth. In Indian weddings, gold brought as dowry by the bride, shows her paternal family status and wealth. It is believed that a bride wearing 24k gold on her wedding will bring luck, and happiness throughout the married life. Indians are passionate about gold, and people oen regard it as extremely holy. They believe that gold brings good luck; hence, many people like to start their businesses or any other new affair by purchasing gold, or decorang the idols of their religious gods with gold ornaments.

There are special days in Hindu calendar, which encourage its followers to buy gold on that specific day such as Dhanteras and Dassera. Hindus believe that it will bring good omen if they will make gold purchases on these propious days. Besides, the Incas have referred to gold as tears of the Sun, which adds more towards spiritual significance, as sun is the sign of authority.

Gold is also bought on fesvals like Onam, Pongal, and Durga Puja. These are the days when ladies get dressed formally, and wear gold ornaments. They like to wear as much gold as they can; therefore, usually they are shining like bright sun. Gold is also considered to be a good gi item, and usually people exchange gis made of gold on weddings, birthdays, and other religious fesvals. India has a huge cloth making industry, which uses gold thread work in making cultural dresses for special occasions, and it is admired not only by Indian women, but in internaonal women community as well.

Gold is an integral part of Indian culture, and is considered exceedingly sacrosanct. Hindus do not wear gold on foot, as it represents ignominy towards their god. Besides, they believe that if they misplace gold, it will bring bad providence to them.

Gold is clearly visible in every part of Indian life. In Indian culture, women, and gold have remained more near to each other, and this tradion is very old and sll connuing. It is an emblem of spirituality and command, and many cultural as well as religious myths are based on it. According to many, it brings prosperity, and opulence.

Explained: Gold prices are down, but should you stay invested?

Gold prices have retracted by over 15% from levels of over Rs 57,000 per 10 grams in August this year to around Rs 48,000 now. They are expected to remain weak in the near term.

With the promise of a Covid-19 vaccine renewing hopes of return to normalcy, gold has started to lose its shine. On November 9, just ahead of Pfizer and BioNTech’s announcement on their vaccine, the price of 24-carat gold in Delhi was Rs 52,183 per 10 grams. Over subsequent weeks, as Pfizer-BioNTech and three more vaccine developers announced results of phase 3 trials, it led to a sharp decline in the price of gold, which by Wednesday had fallen by 7.7% to close at Rs 48,169 per 10 grams.

In the global market, the price of gold has dropped by 5.7% since the first announcement on vaccine trials, and was $1840 an ounce on Thursday. In the meantime, news on the vaccine candidates brought cheer to equity investors as the benchmark Sensex has risen 6.5% since November 9. The broader markets witnessed a stronger rally, and the mid- and small-cap indices at BSE, which had been underperforming, rose 14.4% and 12.5% respectively in the three week period.

This short-term trend over the last three weeks only emphasises the role of asset allocation in one’s investment portfolio. Despite all the volatility and adverse news flows over the last eight months, all investors who follow this principle of investment would be smiling now. If a sharp jump in gold prices (after the outbreak and global spread of Covid-19) had provided a cushion to the portfolio between March and June, equity investment in the portfolio would be doing that now. The debt component of the portfolio would not only have preserved the value of a significant portion of your capital when the equity markets were choppy, but would also have provided the investor with the desired liquidity in times when income/ cash flows were impacted.

Should those who invested in gold at levels above Rs 50,000/10 gm worry now?

Gold was first discovered as shining, yellow nuggets. “Gold is where you find it,” so the saying goes, and gold was first discovered in its natural state, in streams all over the world. No doubt it was the first metal known to early hominids.

Gold became a part of every human culture. Its brilliance, natural beauty, and luster, and its great malleability and resistance to tarnish made it enjoyable to work and play with.

Early civilizations equated gold with gods and rulers, and gold was sought in their name and dedicated to their glorification. Humans almost intuitively place a high value on gold, equating it with power, beauty, and the cultural elite. And this happened during a time when gold had no value as ‘money,’ but was just considered a desirable commodity in and of itself.

The ‘value’ of gold was accepted all over the world. Today, as in ancient times, the intrinsic appeal of gold itself has that universal appeal to humans. But how did gold come to be a commodity, a measurable unit of value?

Gold, measured out, became money. 3. The element symbol for gold—Au—comes from the old Latin name for gold, aurum, which means "shining dawn" or "glow of sunrise." The word gold comes from the Germanic languages, originating from the Proto-Germanic gulþ and Proto-Indo-European ghel, meaning "yellow/green." The pure element has been known since ancient times.

4. Gold is extremely ductile. A single ounce of gold (about 28 grams) can be stretched into a gold thread 5 miles (8 kilometres) long. Gold threads can even be used in embroidery.

5. Malleability is a measure of how easily a material can be hammered into thin sheets. Gold is the most malleable element. A single ounce of gold can be beaten into a 300-square-foot sheet. Gold Vs Planum

Gold and planum are both precious metals that possess special qualies. In 2018, 3,332 tons of gold was mined globally. Gold is mainly produced in three countries, China, Australia, and Russia.1 In the same year, about 190 tons of planum was mined globally. The majority of planum producon comes from two countries: South Africa and Russia.2 Planum is more difficult to produce than gold, as it's buried deeper in the earth than gold and requires a more difficult process to purify

Planum is a very dense but incredibly malleable metal. It has important industrial applicaons, including in catalyc converters for cars and turbine engines for planes. It also is used in medical devices such as pacemakers and in jewellery.

Gold is used in denstry, as an electrical conductor in computers and other electronic devices, in the aerospace industry, and, most commonly, in jewellery and other arsc applicaons. Many governments and individuals store quanes of gold because of its perceived value as an alternave currency.

Characteriscs and Features

Each metal has different trading characteriscs. Gold is an extremely liquid market. Each day, buyers and sellers trade huge volumes of gold on world markets. The two most important futures exchange for gold are the COMEX division of CME Group in New York and the Tokyo Commodity Exchange.

The COMEX gold futures contract is one of the most liquid commodity futures in the world; its daily trading volume represents about 27 million ounces of gold.Gold also trades on the over-the-counter market as well as in physical markets around the world.

The most important futures exchanges for planum are the NYMEX division of CME Group in New York and the Tokyo Commodity Exchange. Planum also trades in over-the-counter and physical markets. Its opons trading volume is much smaller compared with gold. Because of the difference in liquidity, planum is more suscepble to price spikes than gold is.

I am Lilly Meruga joined Goldsikka as an Assistant Vice President Operaons, HR and Administraon. I worked for GE Money, where I was given an opportunity to be an HR Rep for my team and I was given praccal training with a cerficate. Later I had an opportunity to be abroad and work there as an Academic and Operaons Manager. I was trained on ISO standards and policies. My previous job role was a Manager’s role for Administraon, HR and Compliance. Every role and job proved to be a learning curve. It’s been a month that I am in Goldsikka handling various departments and resources. It’s a challenging role where lot of paence and instant ideas are required to prove.

If a person has ample of experience with proven skills they can work in Goldsikka.The CEO and directors of Goldsikka is highly qualified and well experienced as they come from various business backgrounds with huge knowledge and experse.Goldsikka is the right place for anybody who is a workaholic and loves to deliver their best performance under stressful condions.
